100 outstanding and most in-need students from Gaza studying at Egyptian universities
10 months
Thousands of students from Gaza studying in Egyptian universities face significant financial challenges in continuing their education due to the genocide impacting their families back home. This project aims to provide an urgent stipend of $200 per month for one academic year (8 months) to 100 outstanding and most in-need students from Gaza, allowing them to cover their educational expenses amid the disruption in communication with their families and their families' dire financial situation. This support will ensure they can continue their studies without financial barriers and complete their university education successfully.

Secondly: Project Background
Egyptian universities are a popular destination for thousands of Palestinian
students, particularly those from Gaza, due to their geographical proximity and
relatively lower tuition fees compared to Gaza and other universities. There are
over 9,000 students from Gaza studying in various disciplines, primarily
medicine, in Egyptian universities. Most of these students pay their tuition fees
themselves or with family support. However, the recent tragic events in Gaza
have severed communication with their families and caused a loss of income for
many Palestinian families due to displacement, injury, martyrdom, or destruction
of livelihoods, threatening the continuation of their education.
Given the urgent needs of Gaza’s students and the support required by their
families, this project aims to alleviate the financial burden on families by
providing an urgent stipend of $200 per month for 100 outstanding students from
Gaza studying in Egyptian universities for one academic year (8 months). This
assistance will help them maintain a decent living standard, allowing them to
focus on their studies and avoid distractions that could hinder their academic
progress and graduation.
Thirdly: project justifications
1. The dire situation of students’ families in Gaza poses a challenge in providing for their children’s expenses and tuition fees due to the
destruction of essential life infrastructure in Gaza.
2. Ensuring decent living conditions and protecting students from university
dropout and exploitation by providing personal expenses.
3. Supporting Gaza students and boosting their morale and their families’ amidst the loss of income sources.
4. Contributing to a better future for Gaza students and improving their
chances of receiving quality education.
